Workspace for every European carrier
Ekornes ships comfort to 48 countries.
Since 1934, Ekornes has made furniture in Norway and sold it through 4,000 retail outlets. For a premium brand, the delivery is part of the product. A late or damaged sofa is a broken promise to the customer.

The challenge: a black box
Ekornes works with a large number of transporters across borders. Each one uses its own systems, its own reporting and its own level of data quality. The result was no clear picture of where the operation stood or where it could improve.
"Working with a large volume of transporters across borders, each using different systems, reporting methods, and with varying data quality, it was near impossible to get a clear picture of where we are and where we can improve," says Jan Robert Lyngvær.
Ekornes needed control of its transport data, to find problems before they reached the customer.

“Distribution was essentially a black box. Kinver didn't just provide a product; they provided us with the facts.”
The solution
Every transporter in Europe now reports into one workspace. Ekornes sees the whole network at once and can drill down by country, carrier, reporting period, customer, route and shipment.
That view drives day-to-day decisions:
Cutting unnecessary shipments.
Optimising routes and truckloads.
Consolidating shipments to put fewer trucks on the road.

The impact
"We now have complete visibility, from the overview across Europe all the way down to a customer, postcode or shipment. It's extremely easy to use and cuts our time to analyse and act in half."
Analysis time cut in half.
Bio-fuel and electric trucks running on several routes.
Data expectations now written into transport tenders, so carriers commit to the same transparency.
Next step: working on upstream and downstream transport emissions. "Even though we are in the furniture business, really, we are in the logistics business," says Lyngvær.
